1. Start your local Know Cancer Project by using any social networking methods, such as forming a Meetup Group, or among your friends and local community. 2. Brainstorm cancer topics, and decide on the specific cancer concern to address for your first flyer campaign. I recommend creating one flyer design every three to six months. 3. Meet and discuss the key messages and information to be included in a flyer. The goal to educated the public about cancer related issues, how it could affect their lives and what they can do about it. 4. Engage local design students, professionals or members to donate their design skills in designing the flyers. 5. Locate sponsors to fund the printing cost, print shops to donate the printing, or raise the funds among your members. I've used a national source which charges about $300 for 5,000 and $650 for 10,000 double sided color flyers. I would be glad to help individual groups thru this process. 6. Distribute the flyers everywhere, additonally, order Take It Pocket (TIP) and put your car to work, as a member of the Know Cancer street team. Pproceeds will go to the AACR Foundation (American Association for Cancer Research) and the American Cancer Society. |

There are over 220 millions cars in the U.S., consider the fact that the population is 298 million people, the potential reach of this "media" is extraordinary. Given the high cost of TV commercials, radio spots, newspaper ads and direct mailing, no other method can come close to getting your messages to the mass audience in terms of exposure, effectiveness and cost. |
